Native Events organised the first ever REALISE Sustainability Summit in April 2025 to bring together artists and performers, writers and musicians, designers and curators, changemakers and facilitators, researchers and educators, to co-ordinate creative climate action across Ireland. A first of it’s kind, the Northern Ireland Music Industry Sustainability Toolkit, is a deep dive into the potential of the music industry to lead the sustainability transition and create systemic change in Northern Ireland. It is divided into three playbooks, each with practical actions, resources, ideas and tools for: Artists and Musicians; Events and Festivals; and Venues to create sustainable change. Using our participatory engagement and creative facilitation methods in each of these projects meant that the end result reflected the current state of sustainability in the CCI’s, while also co-creating a shared vision for where the industry is going and practical steps for how to get there.
